Sometimes when God speaks to me it's a warning of things to come. Sometimes it's Him sharing with me what's going on inside of me. Finally, it is a state of where His people are in general at that moment. This month, I sense it is a combination of all of the above. So as we are at the beginning of the Month of May, let's take this verse piece by piece.
Here is the acronym we will use for "WEARY"
Worry- Leading to Wondering
Exhausted-ready to Exit
Agitated-Leading to accepting anything or accepting nothing
Reclusive-Run Away from others and God
Yearning-unyielding
Part 1
"Let us not become" Here is a warning that something in our past, present, or future has the ability to develop a space for Weariness. If you were able to hear the message "Momma Breathe" for our Sunday Funday, you hear the word Developer. Elder Townsend defined a developer as "someone who grows or causes something to grow and become more mature or elaborate." So, first, God is saying let's not become a developer of weary. It's not going to be to our advantage, nor will it benefit us to cultivate this emotion.
Look at the first part, "Let Us", which means as a collective. It is important especially at a time such as this that we, the body of Christ not "become Weary". Our individual weariness can lead to our collective weariness. Something to ponder on, what I do affects you.
"Weary in doing good."
Part 2
So, what do we have to be the potential to become, grow into, or develop? Weariness. What does it mean to be weary? It simply means to be tired. Tired of doing good? Well, that's interesting, when you look at it at face value, who can ever get tired of doing good? Let's think and make it personal, what causes you to get tired? So many things. But, what causes us to become tired of doing good? Maybe when then things we are doing are not yielding the fruit we expected. When we feel like we are the only one who cares. When we have so much come against us, we are overwhelmed?
Then the real question, is what is good? This must be evaluated according to our Good God. If I evaluate "goodness according to myself, it may not be good at all. Which would cause us to take a flight above Galatians 6:9 and look at Galatians 6:6-9". So for your facetime reading today,
Read, ponder and think about Galatians 6:6-9
