Have you ever been extremely tired, fatigued, or even exhausted? I am talking about so tired you could not think straight? Were you able to recognize it? As I recall in my younger more ambitious years I did not need much sleep to keep my energy levels on level 10. I could always go longer and could always do more, it just really did not matter. I could rarely see or even admit that I was tired. I would allow my cranky, angry emotions to be deflected on others.
However, now that I have approached the middle ages of my life, it's just not happening for me like that anymore. I am learning to accept the fact that I am not just extremely tired, sometimes I am exhausted. Whenever I find myself sleeping less and doing more, I can look for exhaustion to set in soon. As I was listening to our Pastor one day, he mentioned the word "pause". I can not tell you how that felt like someone had just handed me the most amazing gift. So I pondered that for the remainder of the weak, and the Lord gave me this to help me appreciate the Pause.

Exhaustion can lead to a swift exit before you know it!!! As we have been pondering over the scriptures in Galatians chapter 6 this month, we have some clear instructions. The caption above says it well. Let us not allow ourselves to become fatigued in doing the good things God has for us. What is the good thing? It is being led by His Spirit. When we are lead moment to moment, day by day by the Spirit of God, he keeps us in balance, so that we don't over do it. Or choose to exit... walk away from following Him completely.
As I mentioned before, doing more with less was how I survived. That was then, but now that I am older, I must be more respectful to myself and others. This is Why I love that I get to take a PAUSE at any time of the day and reset and regroup. Maybe the thing I am trying to do needs me to take a break and come back with a fresh mind. Maybe I need to reconstruct how my time is being spent, so I can be more productive. Whatever, the reason, I have learned that incorporating the PAUSE into my day is essential.
So let us not get tired of listening to God, being led by God, and showing up for God. Practice the Pause on the Regular, watch how much better you will feel. I truly believe a part of that Pause is getting some Face time in the Our Heavenly Father.
