Permission to Speak- Confidence!
Have you ever taken a road trip on a seemingly endless country road? Your experience includes cattle, grass, passing cars, snacks, and music or conversations until everyone falls asleep.
You might have a tired, impatient child asking, "Are we there yet?"
Your answer is YES! I can confirm that. Now that we're there, remember the excitement and confidence about the journey. You could feel the excitement with all the preparation: making travel arrangements, securing the car with an oil change and tire change, cleaning it, and making room for luggage, snacks, and passengers.
However, the long stretch began to tire you out. The frequent bathroom stops wore you down, and the loneliness set in after the conversations ended. Hearing "are we there yet?" one more time felt unbearable.
The question then becomes...
Is it worth it? It seems unlikely anyone, including me, will enjoy this, especially after the wrong turn extended the drive.
This example illustrates our faith journey: we start with excitement, but as we progress, things often become more complicated.
It can make you so angry that by the time you reach your destination, you don't enjoy it.
The destination of heaven and learning about God are invaluable. Hebrews 10:35 offers additional insights in the following verses.

I love this: "Confident trust in the Lord." God has a plan for our lives. We shouldn't let anything deter us from the destination or from enjoying the journey, as we are confident in God's direction.
Our destination is Heaven, home with our heavenly father. Along the way, we face unavoidable distractions, loneliness inherent to human nature, and complaints from ourselves and others. However, God's Holy Spirit guides us safely back.
On our journey to the final destination, there are earthly pit stops provided by the Father for helping others, learning about Him, or enjoying His gifts.
Do not lose faith; every part of the journey is worth reaching the destination.
A song includes the line, "And when I see Jesus, Amen"!
Let's pray:
Father, thank you for the journey and its destination. Today, I choose confidence over worry and anxiety, trusting that you will complete the good work you began in me (Philippians 1:6). Until then, I aim to keep my eyes on you, my faith in your plan, and my actions aligned with your purpose. In Jesus' name, amen.
