When I look at the picture (above), I think of this phrase. "More of you (God) and less of me". As I have been reading through the Psalms this month, this is exactly what I have been able to experience. More of the Lord through praise and less of myself through circumstances. This has been healthy for my mind, body, and Spirit.
Let's continue on feeding ourselves with the next five Psalms.
Day 21
Psalms 112
"Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth. The generation of the upright will be blessed". Psalms 112: 1&2
Day 22
Palms 113
"Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of the Lord, Praise the name of the Lord! Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth, and forevermore!" Psalms 113: 1&2
Day 23
Psalms 114
"When Israel went out of Egypt, The house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became His sanctuary, And Israel His dominion.
Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of Jacob..." Psalms 114:1-2, 7
Day 24
Psalms 115
"Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to your name give glory, Because of your Mercy, Because of your truth." Psalms 115:1
Day 25
Psalms 116
"I love the Lord, because he heard my voice and my supplications.
For Lord have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
Psalms 116: 1 & 8
Just a special note:
Psalms 113-118 are "Psalms of the Passover". These Psalms are read as a retelling of the story of God's deliverance of Israel from Egypt. They use this as apart of the Passover Commemoration of God Saving Acts during the Exodus. These Psalms in particular help lead the celebration by setting up this cycle of praise to God and Savior for His deliverance.
When I look at the Psalms from the perspective of History it gives me great hope to know that, the Same God is still Worthy to be praised, because He is the God who never changes. Just like He delivered the children of Israel He can and will deliver us. We only need to "Listen and Obey" so we can receive the benefits of His Saving Power".
Praise the Lord. Get your face time in today. Want to know more about how God Save the Children of Israel? You should go to the book of Exodus. Its really good read.
