Reversing the Shame by His Grace

Shame is defined as a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by consciousness of being wrong or displaying foolish behavior.

Grace is defined as courteous goodwill. In our Christian world grace is defined as Gods' unmerited favor which was manifested in the salvation of sinners.

Reverse-A complete change of action of action or direction.

Today as we continue to read the story found in Genesis 16, one word that sticks out is "return". God's specific instructions to Hagar was to "return". However, the first thing He asked her upon the His arrival, was "Hagar, Sarai's maid, where are you going?" Her response "I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai." The Angel of the Lord's response to this was "Return to your mistress, and and submit yourself under her hand." Geneses 16 :7-9

This really good. Sometimes we run from the pain and hurt of something because of how harsh or complicated it is. However, that was the exact place Hagar need to be. Simply because that was the place God would provide for her, the place God would give her grace, the place God would do miracles. He had given Hagar Grace for this time and season in her life. It says she was running from the presence of her mistress, could it be possible that where the presence of God was. She only could see her mistress. Remember He is the God who sees you, can you also see HIM.

What place are you running from in you heart today, because you don't want to deal with the pain, the shame. Let us not grow weary because we have elected to run from the place God has blessings for us. What does your blessing look like? Ask God, the two of you may have a very different view.

Get your face time into day. Be still in a quiet place and hear what God is saying to you through these scriptures of others He leads you to.
