Intentional about Forgetting

How easy it for you to let go of your "thoughts". Thoughts about your past or your future? For me it depends on how long and how affected I am about the feelings connected to those thoughts.

Today, God share with me, I need to be more "intentional" about what He has for me to think about today, verses what yesterday looked or tomorrow will look like. The more I focus on something the more real it becomes. So why not focus on what's really happening and not what has happened or what I anticipate will happen in the future.

This intentional thought process has to be meet with what I would like to call "Fixed Focused". I am going to fix myself in a position, where I have the right focus. Let's for a moment examine the word intentional.

Intentional means to that it is "done on purpose" "deliberate". WOW!!! Pretty simple. I can forget intentionally. As our Word for the month is Fall. I can fall intentionally, because I know that to fall is to Forget All. To fall is to intentionally stop addressing my past or my future and live for today. Anything that is not affected by today, I am going to intentionally "swipe left", then it will no longer exist on my screen.

Fixed focus! So, how in the world, can you swipe left and forget about what you saw? And what happens when you swipe left but it continues to show up, in the same image or many other images?

Excellent question!!! This is where our fixed focus comes in. Remember the goal of today, is TODAY! So, I will fix (decide or settle on) my focus (the state or quality of having or producing clear visual definition) on the things God has for me Today, My purpose for today.

Here is a note, worth pondering over. Often times our purpose is shown or made known to us just hour by hour. That's why it is important to show up for today, with our full attention or focus. Be intentional about what we're Focusing on.

Here are a few things help us intentionally Fix our Focus on God.

  1. God has Given You/me a New Day

2. Today God has new mercy for you. Don't miss the new being concerned about the old.

3. God is the Author and Finisher of Today and Tomorrow.

These are just a few things to help. What other scriptures do you know that will help you intentionally focus on God Today. Not sure, get some face time in today. One thing I know for sure, each day God wants me to commune with Him so that our relationship can get strong. Focus on the opportunity to get to know God better helps me focus better.

This takes time, I am finally to the place most days, that I can focus on today without any guilt from my past or anxiety from my future. What peace and joy I open myself up to.

Its truly Amazing Grace!
