Forget About It

I keep hearing the Lord speak these words to me "move forward". In my mind that's simple enough. It is simple, until it's not. What I mean by that is as I try and move forward, which looks like showing up for todays business, there are these thoughts I have had previously of what "today" should look like. Can you relate? Today, as a 47 year old woman, I had thoughts and dreams of where I would be by now.

I had plans. The key word is plans, some I have been still trying to work out. If I am honest, they have not really worked out well, I have just been too stubborn or void of another plan to let go of them. I can tell you, it has been costly in many areas. I know that God has the blueprint or plan. However, it's hard to say good bye to yesterday.

How to You forget about it? What is the "it"? It is your past, it is any idea, thought, event, voice, that is constantly reminding you of what "it" was. That being said, be mindful of the stories you continue to bring forward and make relatable. It is a clear connection to your past, while good memories, they can not help you today. There are way too many emotions connected to it.

So, do you erase your past from you memory, not at all. Forget simply means to "put out of ones mind, or cease to think or consider". We can not hold two thoughts in our brain and not expect to act on them. I believe the Lord called this "double minded". No bouncing in between the two.

How do you forget?

1.Change your focus, the Scriptures says" See I am doing something New"

I am is doing something new. Seek and look at God, focus on Him. Anything person, place or thing does not deserve your attention. We should not look to our past to determine our future. God is the Key to our future.

2. See the truth. If something new is happening in you expect something new to come out of your. Expect to be placed in something new.

* If you want to remain with the old, then expect the old thing to keep coming, because one thing is for sure, the two can not mix. Something will break

Get your FaceTime in. The struggle is real, lets be honest. The old continues to come into play because in some cases its the only reference point we think we have. However, its not.

Moving forward takes courage to ask for help. I am reminded of Jacob, when he wrestled all night until God blessed him. He did not know God was going to change His life, by giving him a new name.

Read it for yourself, Genesis 32:22-32. What a Blessing to be made new. Don't settle for being made new, when you can walk in the new, live in the new, and bring others into their new place.
