Face-Time Psalms 88 "Call on God even when..."

One of the best times to call out to the Lord is when things are at their lowest and you feel the most vulnerable. The times we are in such desperation there is no one else to turn to or call on because by now the story is old to the Human ear.

However, it is also during these times that our adversary would have us retreat and begin to feel sorry for ourselves. He wants us to isolate ourselves and go to dark places so that He can use our minds to work against us. Well, just in case you don't know, Satan our adversary is a deceiver and a liar. His primary job is to go against God and His plan for us.

Therefore, when times are hard and life seems unfair, we can go to God in prayer. Share with Him how we are feeling and even ask Him to come and be with us. Why? Because He is our Father, and He does not abandon His children, punish and discipline...absolutely, but never abandon us.

Let's take a listen to the Psalmists Desperate Cry to the Lord.

*, see the first two verses above

vs 3 "For I have had enough troubles, and my life s near Sheol

vs 4 "I am counted among those going down to the Pit. I am like a man without strength"

vs 5 "abandoned among the dead..."

vs 9 "my eyes are worn out from crying. Lord, I cry out to you all day long, I spread out my hands to you."

vs 13 "But I call to you for help, Lord; in the morning my prayer meets you.

There is no doubt, that this Psalmist is experiencing deep pain, and feeling immensely rejects. As we take time to remember "Holy Week" I am reminded of Jesus' Prayer in the Garden of Gestheme...

Matthew 26:

vs 36 " "Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray."

vs 37 "He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled."

vs 38 "Then he said to them,'My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me."

39 "Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

Get your facetime in today. Be encouraged, God is always listening. Trust His plan and His process.
