Face-Time Psalms 57 "To God be the Glory"

Updated: Feb 27, 2021

"Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let your Glory be above the Earth" Psalms 57:5 & 11

Happy Friday! "To God be the Glory for the Great Things He has Done"! This was a popular song sang at our church during the '80s and '90s. I feel like it was used also as a way to transition and enter into the presence of God. Today, as I hear God speaking this phrase, I ask, what is Glory?

Glory is defined, according "as high renown or honor is given by achievement". It can also be defined as praise, worship, and thanksgiving given to diety. Well, that's what we want to do today, give Praise on This Friday to our Great God, by saying this simple phrase, "To God be the Glory."

Our Psalms today, Psalms 57 is filled with honor and Praise to our God. However, what is interesting about this Psalms, is it coming from a place of humility. David, wrote these Psalms as he was running from His now enemy Saul. The interesting thing is that during this time, David had every right and every opportunity to kill the enemy that was hunting him. There is no doubt that if Saul, (the enemy) would have found David he would have killed David. However, something in David, could not allow David to Kill "God's Anointed". Have you ever had the opportunity to do damage to someone that what was pursuing you to harm you? What was your response?

Today, we want to Give honor to God, for His Mercy, not just for us, but He extends Mercy to All.

So, I end with what David begins with "Be Merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! Get your facetime in today! Be encouraged to run just a little further.
