I often say, "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable". I said this because I heard the Lord whisper this in my ear, last year. I remember it well. Simply Living in Purpose had been up and running for about 1 month. I remember that because I was praying about my current business. As an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay, I was and still am desiring new customers for the growth of my business. There is just one thing, I am very reserved, or shall I say shy when it comes to talking about myself. So, I heard that phrase, "get comfortable with being uncomfortable". I had no idea at the time, the world as I knew it would be completed changed by Covid-19. Needless to say, what I thought was one thing, took on multiple meanings.
So, today, our Face-Time Psalms 53, is talking about what a sinner looks like. Jumping right in
"A fool says in his heart "There's no God". They are corrupt, and they do vile deeds." vs 1
There is a lot to meditate on and think about just in verse 1.
You and I may not be "sinners" but what do we flirt around with things that lead us toward the sin path. Is it our lack of belief that God is who He says, He is? When I say or act like God will not punish me for my wrong, am I essentially saying, there is no God, who will punish me? Just food for thought. Get some face-time in with the Psalms. See this portrait of a sinner. Are your actions aligned with your belief or your speech?
Let's not get so comfortable with being around sin, that we indulge in sing without even knowing it. Let's get uncomfortable with removing the sin out of our lives, but do it anyway so we Can uplift Christ Jesus our Lord.
