One of the scriptures in the bible that keeps my heart grounded is found in St. Matthew 6:21. It says "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be." Our heart is what I like to say the center of all of our emotions. It is also the essence of who we are. Taking a full examination of our hearts every once in a while is truly important. Sometimes my mind is doing one thing, but I feel this pull within that seems to be contrary. That's when I need to stop everything and begin to align my head and my heart. If not I find it hard to make a true decision.
That being said, my heart is not always right, and should not be in control or allowed to make a certain decision. Maybe that's why the Bible also speaks of not being able to trust our hearts.
Here are some amazing verses from these Proverbs to help with keeping our hearts in the ways of wisdom.
vs 12 "Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge."
vs 15 "My son, if your heart is wise, My heart will rejoice-indeed myself"
vs 17 "Do not let your heart envy sinners, but be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day"
vs 18 "Hear, my son, and be wise; And guide your heart in the way."
vs 26 "My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways."
Get your face time in today. God has some wisdom to help you guide your heart in the right direction, which towards trusting in Him.
