What an amazing way to talk to God (prayer). When we come to God with an open heart He can fill us up. I have enjoyed dissecting these Proverbs. Have you ever wanted to know which way to go? What decision you should make? How to help? What if there is a foundation that is laid for wisdom to thrive in? I believe there is. That foundation is Seek God for His wisdom, then listen, and finally apply the knowledge given which when applied is Wisdom.
Solomons says "LISTEN"
vs 1 "My Son, if you receive my word..." LISTEN
vs 1 "and treasure my commands within you..." RECEIVE
vs 2 "so that you incline your ear to Hear wisdom and apply your heart to understanding"
The requirements of receiving Wisdom
vs 3 "Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding."
vs 4 "You seek her as silver And search for her as for hidden treasure.
When Wisdom shows up
vs 5 "Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God."
vs 6 "For the Lord gives wisdom; From his mouth comes knowledge and understand."
vs 10 "When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul..."
vs 11 "Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you...
vs 12 "To deliver you from the way of evil..."
What does evil look like?
vs 12 "...the man who speaks perverse things..."
vs 13 "From those who leave the paths of unrighteousness"
vs 15 "Whose ways are crooked, And who are devious in their paths."
vs 16 "the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words..."
When I worked through these Proverbs this is how I was able to gain insight on how valuable Wisdom is and What I must do to obtain it. I think we can save ourselves a lot of anxiety and stress when we follow the ways of wisdom without question. Get your face time in today.
