If you had one thing to ask God, what would you ask Him for? Wisdom? As we are into day 8 of our journey this month, I was thinking about all the things I ask of God. While thinking, I discovered that rarely do I ask for wisdom. Of all the things we can ask for, wisdom is the most important thing.
Remember King Solomon, 1 King 3:3-15 shares how God showed up in a dream and asked Solomon this "Ask! What shall I give you?" (vs 4) Solomon answers "You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before you in truth, in the righteousness of heart..." (vs 6) "...but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people..." (vs 8) "Therefore give our servant an understanding heart to judge Your people that I may discern between good and evil. (vs 9) "The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. Then God said to him: 'Because you have asked this thing and have not asked for long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself... " (vs 10-11) "behold I have done according to your words; see I have given you wisdom and understanding heart..." (vs 12) "And I have also given you riches and honor..." (vs 13)
