Today's letter can be confusing. The name "Father" holds different meanings for each of us: connection and love for some, isolation and pain for others. However, the term "Heavenly Father" stands apart, with no earthly comparison. My understanding of a Heavenly Father's characteristics comes solely through scripture. Let's explore this further.

The "H" in F.A.I.T.H. – Holding Onto Our Heavenly Father

The "H" in F.A.I.T.H. stands for "Heavenly Father"—the very heart of our faith journey. Resurrected faith isn’t just about believing again; it’s about reconnecting with the One who holds us close. It’s about remembering that faith is relational, not transactional.

When your faith feels weary, distant, or even buried under life’s disappointments, the way back isn’t through striving harder—it’s through holding onto your Heavenly Father.

Why the Heavenly Father Matters

The world often teaches us to rely on our strength, to keep going no matter what. But God, as our Heavenly Father, invites us to rest in Him—to bring our questions, doubts, and weariness to His presence. He doesn't just want our work; He wants our hearts.

Faith resurrected is faith that knows it is held, not by circumstances, but by a Father who never lets go.

Resurrected Faith is Relational

Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But that "word" is not just information—it’s the voice of a Father speaking life, love, and purpose into His children.

When we hear His voice, we remember that we are not alone. We are held.

Reflection Questions:

  • Have I been relating to God as a taskmaster or as a loving Father?

  • What would it feel like to let myself be held by Him again?

  • Where in my life do I need to surrender striving and simply rest in His embrace?

Let's Pray:

Our Father in Heaven, holy is your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in Heaven. Thank you for your position in our lives; none compares to you. You are exalted, but care for us. We ask forgiveness for comparing you to earthly fathers. Renew our faith and help us release old mindsets. Create in us a clean heart through your word. Our hearts are open to you. In Jesus' name, amen.
