Happy Day after Resurrection. I stand in awe of God. His love is truly amazing. Last week, I chose to lay aside things I normally gravitate to for earthly pleasure, like my coffee. I desired to do something different, so I could experience something different. Would you agree that's what the Journey to the Cross was? God did something different by sending His only Son (an extension of Himself) so we could experience Him differently. The Grave, the Cross, and the Tomb: a different way to see God and His love and power. This brings me to the first letter in FAITH, Fixed.
F – Fixed
Resurrected faith is fixed, not in the sense of being rigid, but anchored. It’s faith that no longer drifts in doubt or is shaken by disappointment. Even with all the miracles Jesus performed before his death, doubt still lingered. However, after his death and resurrection, a level of doubt was dispelled, especially among the disciples. Remember Thomas; like many of the disciples, he had lost hope because of what they witnessed. Thomas was not even persuaded by his friends that Jesus was alive...refer to the scripture in John 20:24-29.
"Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my fingers where the nails were and put my hand into his side, I will not believe." Jesus (an extension of his Father) met Thomas' request. One week later, as the disciples were in the house, Thomas was present. Jesus appears (not through the door) and speaks "Peace". Then turns to Thomas and says, "Put your fingers here, see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Stop doubting and believe." Thomas's only response is "My Lord and my God". #ResurrectedFaith
Ok, I just had to pause and take a deep breath! Again, I stand in awe of God's love for us. He never stops showing us who He is. The question I leave you is, have you stopped looking for His love through your faith, not life, not your works? Just ask God to see Him again, this time through new lenses. The old ones are outdated.
“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith...” (Hebrews 12:2)
💬 “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.” (Psalm 57:7)
Resurrected Faith is laser-focused and recalibrated through the purpose lens.
Let's Pray:
Father, thank you for the experience through Thomas's eyes. He wasn't there when others saw you, yet you approached him with compassion and understanding, providing the answers he sought. Thank you for your unchanging nature. I pray the reader takes bold steps like Thomas, waiting for you to reveal yourself. Once you do, may their response be like Thomas's: "My Lord, and my God," as doubt is settled. In Jesus' name, amen.
