I am excited to get started. Here are the first five names of Jesus. Take each day based on the day of the month. Depending on when you are reading this you may have to take a couple of names at a time. Don't fret, it will be ok. The purpose it to intentionally focus more on cultivating your relationship with Jesus. Choose a time when you can focus. Read scriptures and take notes. Pay attention to how your relationship develops just by learning of the names of Jesus.
Let's get started with a little background.
As you read scriptures and study the Bible, you will find that names are important. These names hold significant value. The names also speak to speak to the persons character. A perfect example is seen the God changes Jacob to Israel.
Also, when Jesus changes Simon's name to Peter, which means Rock.
Here are just a few points to get started with learning, calling and praying the name of Jesus.
Point 1
Jesus more accurately translated "Joshua", meaning "God is Salvation". This Jesus is know as Jesus the "Christ", which signifies 'Jesus' unique identity and mission.
Point 2
Praying the in Jesus name. When we pray in Jesus name we are asking in the righteousness of Christ, not our own. We are acknowledging that we don't deserve to be heard by God, but we know for sure Jesus does. God hears us because of Jesus.
Point 3
Taking the name of Jesus in vain.
"In vain" is connected with empty, idle, insincere, or frivolous. Therefore to to take the name of Jesus in vain means that we call on his name with empty, idle, insincere or frivolous words. The name of Jesus has power. God wants His followers to never take the name of Jesus in vain, instead, we are to Honor him.
I am excited to take this journey, and I pray that you decided to come along with me. I expect Jesus to show up in a special way.
What better way to get someone's attention than to call their name, with purpose and expectation. Get your FaceTime in today. God is waiting on you.
